A priest is raping a little boy or girl. Your little boy or girl. But you don't grasp this for years, by which time your child is ruined.

But here's the odd thing - you don't despise the priest. Instead, you simply do not care. You forgive him, continue to follow him, and even revere him. It seems impossible to anyone who is rational that you would do this, but you do.

Trump is the priest, your child is America, and you are Maga.

Trump is also a deviant, a sociopath, as are his chosen acolytes: Leavitt, Noem, Bondi, Patel, Blanche, Hegseth, etc. But this is nothing new. Every society has malignant aberrants, individuals like Bundy, Gacy and Dahmer. And everyone, rightly, loathes them.

We can't do much about this, other than arrest and imprison them. Human society will always have Bundys and Trumps. But reverence for killers is, if not something new - witness Hitler - fortunately extremely rare. The worst people in Nazi Germany were not Hitler and his generals. They were the ordinary citizens who carried out the orders. Without the public Hitler would have been nothing, and forgotten to history. It's the same with Trump. He is nothing without his blind, slavish toadies. They are the real monsters.

We actively try to ignore this. They are our family members and fellow workers, and we want to avoid confrontation. But we should not ignore this. If right-thinking Germans had stood up, World War 2 would have been prevented. We have to stand up to the Trump cult fanatics, who live in our neighborhoods all around the country. There should be an extremely well publicized campaign, ideally led by progressive politicians and other community leaders, to talk about the process of cult deprogramming, specifically how to deprogram a Trump cult member, and with widely shared success stories.

The basic truth of cult deprogramming is that it has to happen one by one. We have a lot of people to bring back to reality!

This is as important as fighting Trump and his mafia in Congress and the courts. The real sickness in America is not Donald. It is the people who are willing to do anything for him.
